The line was closed by British Rail in 1973 and sold to the present operator Mid-Hants Railway Ltd in 1975. Web22 jan. 2012 · Hello Guys I wanted to build this route first when i started with Railworks, first my idea was to build the route from Winchester and Guildford in the 1960's, i didn't had enough pictures (old) to do it, plus at the time i couldn't afford buy a book about the line in 1960's, then I decided to make Mid Hants Railway plus the line from Alton to Guildford.
