I like the EVH, but not wowed by it. I had actually also tried out the EVH EL34, and I liked the clean tone better, but the other channels felt stiff.

It's got a better master for low volumes, and at higher volumes it's just bigger and badder, plain and simple. The EVH is excellent, but it doesn't exactly sound like a Marshall. That's what my Splawn is for -- at least the Splawn is my idea of Marshall tone with more of the features I like. A Ace.trouble

Marshall has used a more premium strength Tolex on the amplifier head which feels a lot tougher than what they use on the DSL amps. I found the gain and volume controls to work really well with the JVM at lower volumes.
